Welcome! I’m Jordan McBurney, the owner of Rora Flora, named after my daughter - Aurora. I love both beautiful things and nature which has led me into the wonderful world of floral design.

Today, Rora Flora is a Pittsburgh, PA floral design studio specializing in weddings, events, and handmade garlands. However, this all began with me making bouquets for friends and family in my kitchen. The more I made for them, the more they asked for, until one day it was a stranger asking. She had seen some of my work at a baby shower she had attended and asked if I could do the flowers for her wedding. THAT was the moment Rora Flora was born. I’ll never forget the reception venue coordinator calling me a few weeks before the big day and leaving a message for the “floral vendor”. Floral vendor? ME? I was doing this wedding out of my basement…certainly didn’t feel like a legit “vendor”. I did once the wedding was over and everything had turned out beautifully. The bride was happy. I was so proud. And very very thankful to my friends and family that helped prep the 1400 stems that were required for that event. THAT was the moment Rora Flora started to walk. And now we are running.

Flowers are stunning and also fleeting which makes them the perfect compliment to the significant events in our lives. For most of human history, they have served multiple purposes at these special events: showing the importance of the event, pulling the creative vision for the event together, and adding beauty and nature into our lives.

Supporting Local Flower Farms

I believe in supporting small businesses and our local community here around the ‘burgh. We try to source our flowers from local flower farms as much as possible. This not only ensures the freshest blooms but also supports local growers and sustainable practices. By choosing locally sourced flowers, we can offer unique and seasonal varieties that add a special Pittsburgh touch to your events. If you happen to know a flower farmer (big operation or backyard farm) - please send me their contact information. I’d love to connect with them for future events.

Our Vision

At Rora Flora, we want every bride to have the flowers of her dreams and every special event to be especially beautiful. We believe in the “sister rule” here - if I wouldn’t let my sister walk down the aisle with it, I’m not going to let you either (shout out to Kendra Scott of Kendra Scott Jewelry).
